NBA 2021 award predictions
The 2020-21 NBA season is coming, which means it’s now time for us to provide our prediction about the league’s awards. Let’s discuss more.
Champions
The Los Angeles Lakers! The Clippers, Brooklyn, and Milwaukee all have claims, but the defending champion Lakers not only have the ultimate trump card in LeBron James but also added key pieces in Dennis Schroder and Marc Gasol.
Most Valuable Player
If you are a casual basketball fan and haven’t known the name Luka Doncic, you soon will. The 21-year-old Slovenian sensation has got much better with each season.
Rookie Of The Year
Last summer saw LaMelo Ball shine on our shores in the NBL. He’s set to do the similar thing on the biggest stage of basketball. With some crafty passing at the point guard position, Charlotte’s No.3 draft pick has already made highlight reels.
Most Improved Player
It is always hard to pin down this award since the notion of improvement can be defined in a variety of ways. But this year, after Chris Paul’s departure, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been given the keys to Oklahoma City’s offence. We expect him to produce plenty of big games.
Defensive Player Of The Year
Although Anthony Davis may be the most favorite, but it’s difficult to go past two-time winner Rudy Gobert, who is a game-changing presence in the paint.
Sixth Man Of The Year
The Clippers’ Lou Williams is a three-time winner and also bookies’ favorite. However, Tyler Herro, who helped Miami climb to last season’s NBA Finals, had some great playoff moments and may shine off the bench once more.
Coach Of The Year
This season, Erik Spoelstra could host a MasterClass on how to bring out the best players. He should be an easy choice if the Heat replicates their bubble success. Meanwhike, Nate Bjorkgren is also a good spot for a first-year head coach. There’s so many talent in Indiana waiting to be maximized!
